Heat olive oil in a large, oven-safe skillet or a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat. Add the frozen cooked meatballs and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are heated through and lightly browned, about 5-7 minutes.
⏱ 7 min - 2
Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs in the skillet. Stir to combine, bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let it simmer for 8-10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
⏱ 10 min - 3
While the sauce simmers, preheat your broiler. Prepare the sub rolls by slicing them lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through, so they open like a book.
⏱ 2 min - 4
Evenly divide the hot meatballs and sauce among the four sub rolls. Place two slices of provolone cheese on top of the meatballs in each roll.
⏱ 2 min - 5
Arrange the filled sub rolls on a baking sheet. Broil for 1-3 minutes, watching them very closely, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the rolls are lightly toasted. Be careful not to burn the cheese or rolls.
⏱ 3 min - 6
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley, if desired, and serve immediately for a deliciously easy meal.
