Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch (23x33 cm) baking dish with cooking spray or butter.

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground breakfast sausage, breaking it apart with a spoon, until it is fully browned and no pink remains. Drain any excess grease from the skillet.

Evenly spread the cubed bread at the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Sprinkle the cooked and drained sausage over the bread cubes in the baking dish.

In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and bread in the baking dish. Gently press down on the bread cubes to ensure they absorb some of the liquid.
